WaterChestnut Cake
CNY Must have dessert - Waterchestnut cake 马蹄糕!
***RECIPE***
INGREDIENTS: 250gm "泮塘纯真马蹄粉" Chestnut flour
4 bowls water 500gm sugar
METHOD:
(A) Mix Chestnut flour with 2 bowls of water. Strain and set aside.
(B) Chop chestnuts into cubes and set aside.
(C) Boil 2 bowls of water in a big pot. Add in Chopped chestnut and sugar and bring to a boil . Add in (A) slowly and keep stirring. Stir UNTIL thicken and mixture becomes "translucent".Add a drop of yellow colouring.
(D) prepare container - oil container lightly. Pour mixture into container. (Pour till 3/4 of container only as it will rise)
(E) Steam for 40mins over medium fire.
DONE! Leave to Cool and refrigerate!
Slice to eat or pan fry! Enjoy!
