Nian Gao/ Steam Glutinous Rice
***RECIPE***
INGREDIENTS:
500 gm glutinous rice flour 300 gm coarse sugar 200 gm Brown sugar 1 tbsp corn oil/cooking oil 1 3/4 cups water Banana leaves - soak in hot water n drain dry
METHOD: Line tins with banana leaves. Mix all the above ingredients into a smooth dough. Pour mixture into tins lined with banana leaves and steam for 2 hours until cook.. Unmould nian gao - coat with fresh coconut shreds and serve. For frying with flour and sweet potatoes, must cool completely overnight before you Unmould it
